    Thanks for that info

I will never get hd though until they drop the subscription. I used to pay it for the sky+ when it first came out but at least you were getting dual signals/recording for your buck.

    mkv files until then ;)

Danny, I'm still trying to make sense of the email we got today. I was half hoping you would have the above tidied up to save me the bother :o

( To be honest I was waiting patiently so I could just come in and lift it and save me the trouble of doing the sales sheets, I was even going to text you and say hurry up! )

I guess I can safely say no. Although the single premium pack has been reduced in price but the dual premiums has not changed up as far as 3 packs where from the 4th and more have increased. Also from the 1/1/10 the prices are due to increase because of a VAT change in the UK.

why the hell do sky not stop playing 'now you see it,now you dont'with their offers month to month?
why don,t they treat all customers equally?
why dont they stop posting flyers in letterbox's,advertisements in newspapers, and in the magazines that fall from said newspapers, why dont they stop phoning with' special offers' to ex customers?
the savings on advertising could bring the price of their packages down a lot!why dont they STOP trying to kid people:mad:?

it is understandable to an extent in the summer months when most sportsfans downgrade when the soccer season comes to an end.
well HELLO sky why not just offer your product at a fair price to ALL,You might be surprised at how fair people would be with YOU LOT,IF you were fair with them and NOT insult their intelligence.

Because the offers month to month are "Special Offers" and are heavily subsidised ( though the change on install pricing every month by them is persacution for independants, and makes things extremely complicated )
All customers are not treated equally because, customers who are upgrading would have already had their original install heavily subsidised.
Package pricing is charged at what the market will take / hold.
Every company advertises, by what ever means they see fit / can afford.
Sky are a service provider, a business, not a charity. They offer a service at a cost. They make it very clear what that cost is and do not force anyone to buy / subscribe to their service. People have options, if they do not agree with Skys terms then go else where. Simple :)

Even though it took me nearly a half an hour trying to get through those last 2 posts. I will agree with what Wizard007 has said. Sky is not a charity nor will it ever be one. Its kinda plain and simple...New customers will always be subsidsed with the above offer and even if you get your new customer offer and decide to upgrade at a later stage (say 3 months) you will be regarded as a existing customer and presumed to have recieved ur subsided offer when joining...

Even then...upgrading to HD the box is €49 compared to what it used to be...€199 is that not an offer?:D:D

Exactly who said sky was not a buisness or it was a charity?
sky must just LOVE the way they manipulate people and meet with such sheepishness.

Tell ya what guys FORGET i said anything!

Dont even know why I bother posting up the current offer and spend alot of time reducing and simplifing that story book of an email that was sent to myself and Wizard007 (and possibly others on here).

Thought I was helping others here by telling them what they are offering and to save them the bother of asking about it...but as usual I was wrong:mad::mad:

Trying to order Sky+ HD online now and its costing €49 instead of €24.50 for the box. It also mentions you get €25 credit for applying online. Does this work with the Introduce a Friend offer? Or can that only be done by phone? Is there any way I can get the €24.50 hd box, the €25 credit and the €50 from the friend referral?

The €24.50 HD offer is only available if taking 2 premium packs (movies/sports). Otherwise its €49

Hi Danny, I'm an existing customer upgrading to HD. if I sign up for another 12 months am I obliged to keep the hd sub for the full 12 months or is there the option
of cancelling the hd sub after a couple of months and using the box as a sky+ box with my non HD mixes if I find I'm not really watching the hd channels much?

    Thanks,

    pete

Yes you have to pay for it for a year. (whether you watch it or not :) )

but you can cancel after the year and use it as sky+ , and still get bbc itv and luxe HD .

Yes you will have to keep it for the 12 months (AFAIK) after that you can drop it and use it as a Sky+

you might not be that lucky, but you could look on adverts.ie as a few people are selling their old sky+ boxes as they have upgraded to sky hd and it could be a cheaper option and then you could install it yourself.

To add an extra standard box will be €169. To add another Sky+ will cost €199 and the same for Sky+HD (if you already have one, if not it will be €129)

I got sky hd in 2006 but got rid of it about 10 months ago.

If I get the hd pack back, do i have to keep it for 12 months or is it a rolling contract.
