The group also has turned itself into a tourist attraction by building mushroom houses and living and dressing like fairy tale characters

Wait until the Oompa Loompas get wind of this......
    It seems they already have.

Being 6'6" I doubt I'd notice the difference between this and any other Chinese village.

    Well, maybe a small difference.

If we keep them secluded for 8 generations and use selective breathing on them we'll be able to make the hobbits outta lord of the rings. :)

They'll just end up opening Chinese takeaways and dry cleaners in the Shire.

6'6" eh? what's it like for you when you sit in a car.

Anyway I'm happy for the little fellas. Unfortunately they're going to find out real soon how hard it is to maintain a village when most of the population is proberly 2ft tall.

Just like the Taiwanese, this won't work fellas!

Don't make light of what they're doing. After all even the Chinese love that classic song he ain't heavy he's my brother.

And if you all weren't so quick to weigh in with your snide remarks then maybe we could have a fair and balanced discussion on this issue.

......wait, what are we making puns on again? I wasn't paying attention at the start there.

Apparently 6 out of 7 dwarfs weren't happy about the abuse beforehand

Joke shamelessly stolen from somebodies sig

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

What next - taking the p*ss out of cripples?

    Seriously.

This is playground mentality taken to a new level.

I was in a wheelchair for a couple of years due to a serious leg injury, and to be perfectly honest I find the use of the term "cripple" more offensive than anything else I have seen on this thread.

I think they may find themselves pretty short-changed soon enough.

If anyone wants to discuss the pros/cons/irony of setting up a village specifically for dwarfs to escape discrimination where they live in mushroom houses and dress as fairy tale characters, fire away.

I think we've had enough of the piss taking and puns though.

As far as I know, "cripple" has never been used as a derisory term, though I stand to be corrected & am very sorry if I offended you in any way - that was not my intention.

I intended to point out that taking the p*ss out of dwarfs - who through no fault of their own - are small, due to a medical condition, is pathetic, childish & pointless, and only serves the self gratification of the slagger.

For me, there is humour to be found in everything, whether it be from the depths of despair to the heights of ecstacy, but poking fun without any sense of empathy is just too easy... again, schoolground mentality.
