    hello,
I have an amstrad sky plus box connected to my living room tv. I have ran a cable to another room to get sky as well and this is working fine. I bought a labgear magic eye on ebay so i could change channels in the other room. I have enabled the rf2 9v outlet on the sky box by accessing the installers menu using services, 4, 0, 1, select. the led on the labgear unit is now illuminated, but the unit wont change channels for me.
anyone of you experts ever had any experience of this?
    thanks in advance.

What type of cable have you run and does it have any joins?

standard co-ax cable with a join on each end to connect to each tv. the picture is perfect on the second tv, and the power led is illuminated on the eye

Not trying to be smart but theres no such thing as standard coax cable. Try plugging the remote eye directly into the digibox, cover the box with a dry cloth or a blanket for a few moments and see does the eye accept a remote command.

The IR receiver on the eye might be knackered , i've had one or two over the years faulty, straight out of the packet.
The led on the case illuminates but it wont respond to the remote.
