I intend to take up the triathlon in the new year. I am just getting into training now, and I would like to join a triathlon club. I have looked online and there are a number of clubs in Dublin.

I live in Blackrock and work in the City Centre (Stephens Green). Could anyone give me any recommendations for a club to join.

3dtri or piranha, both got excellent structures, nice people, no crap.
I know piranha have interesting plans for improving their coaching and extending it (or so the rumours go). both can't go wrong with either.

(I'm in phoenix so no vested interested in these clubs)

For starters he lives in Blackrock and we train out of Santry and Templeogue depending on sessions.

I'm planning on joining one too. I think 3D was the one I was going to opt for because their swimming training is more convenient for me than pulse and piranha.

Thanks for that. I will do a bit of research on both 3d and piranha.

The Pulse guys are a good bunch and I plan to re-join this year after a couple of years sabbatical...

3D swim sessions are in the pool in Belvedere. Running and Cycling meet in the Phoenix Park. All the winter training blocks are starting this week - details on the website www.3dtri.com

I find it a great club, it's getting bigger all the time & there practically someone in the club at every level from total beginners to those to win on a regular basis.. and doing every distance - no matter what distance you decided to train for you'll find lots of training partners.

Forgot the most important thing. Piranha has birds that swim train in bikinis.

I would be interested in this too. There doesn't seem to be one. Have you seen that there is a Tri in Portmarnock Velvet Strand Sprint in May?

If you are looking for a tri club in North County Dublin, there is a new club in the Skerries/Lusk/Swords area:

I see they do their swim training in the NAC so not really convenient for people who live in the north of the county:confused:

Bumping this again... I am based in Celbridge so my nearest clubs seem to be Naas or Pulse, any others out west?
