    Just wondering.

Assuming that I can cover the theft or damage of the vehicle - is there anything else that a fully comp ins cover offers above third party?

Like medically is it better to have fully comp e.g. if I break my arm in a single vehicle accident for example?

Policies differ so you need to be sure of the finer details of the one you are being quoted but:
    * comp policies also often offer some level of medical cover to the insured
    * comp policies also offer the ability to drive other cars (do TPFT?)
    * comp policies also can be cheaper!!

Think with Quinn Direct you can drive other cars with Third Party, Fire & Theft

I'm pretty sure that any company with limited cover for other cars like that will just cover you for third party when driving someone else's car, because the fire/theft aspect does not cause a loss to you personally, so it is not an insurable risk for you on that car.

TPFT does exalty what it say and thats all. i.e. covers damage to 3 party vehicle, fire and theft of own vehicle. However fully comp. cover the damages that happen to your vehicle in an accident as well as other damages you sustain i.e. medically.

With fully comp, if you crash the car and its your fault the insurance company will still pay out for your loss.. All other policies wont! If you have an expensive car then you'd better get fully comp.

That's a very misguided post, insurers will pay out regardless of whether you have TPFT or FC if it is your fault, the only difference is that with FC the insurer will also pay out for your loss, where as TPFT will over cover the 3rd parties, or your own should it be burnt out or stolen.

Added "for your loss" to origional post.. Sorrryyy!! I assumed that was a given!
