1999 Focus Problem

My sister has a 1999 1.4 petrol focus.
It is having problems when accelerating. Mechanic thought it was the ECU and got it sent off to have it fixed. Replaced a coil as well.
Now the problem is back, In first gear with the foot to the floor it is barely pulling away. The rev counter is barely moving but the engine seems to be screaming.

    Looking for advice?
Any idea what could be wrong?
If I need to give more info just ask.

    Thanks a million.

had similar problems with my old 03 focus, was no go in it in lower gears.

was definitely the coil pack that was gone, not just one coil though it was a coil pack as described to me

coil pack is a common problem in these, are you sure he fitted a new one as a secondhand one is a waste of time, if memory serves me a new one was only about €40 from consort, easy enough to fit.
