Looks Like TV3 have started a new round of cutbacks to their satellite bandwidth. The lack of peaks indicates that no allowances are made for the content .

Whether we are looking at Vincent Browne muttering or a super slow mo Champions Leage replay we get the same bitrate no matter what :(

Evey other channel adapts to the content . Not TV3 where the laws of physics are evidently different .

Linowsat constantly monitors transmission bitrate which = picture quality . Here are all the Astra 28e channels .

The links are broken to 6 month charts elsewhere so do note the lack of smoothing ...m'kay !!!!

    TV3 10 day . Nailed at 3.1mbits

Yes, noticed that myself as well. It seems unusual to have a fixed bandwidth – could it be a mistake on the website? But you can notice the quality is shocking bad when there’s a lot of action on screen.

TV3 seem technically incompetent (just look at how 3e has been broadcast with the wrong screen ratio for nearly a year). They don’t respond to queries of this nature, so it’s pointless contacting them.

Don’t RTE do the uplink for TV3?

The Ipswich-Newcastle game on BBC the other night was like watching marshmallows rolling up and down the field. A lot of stations seem to be getting softer, including the HD ones.
