Next door house alarm going off

It's the Parochial House just a completely normal house and it's between residents at the moment and we don't have a phone number for the new priest resident. There have been renovations going on so I'm guessing the workmen didn't set the alarm properly as the house is visibly empty and not worth burgling.

Is there anything we can do as my bedroom is right beside the source of most of the noise :( .. I suggested calling the Gardai but was told I'd be wasting my time as they'd just check the house for a break in and feck off once all was clear..

    Anyone have any suggestions?

follow the trail of smarties until you find the priest, then ask him politely to turn it off.

Spray expanding foam into the Wall box where the siren is.

Look at the alarm and call the company. I done that last time i had that problem and they could shut it off remotely. The neighbors gave me some wine and fancy chocolates for the inconvience. It was happening every weekend.

If fuse box is on the outside, open, remove fuse. Enjoy the silence...unless the battery kicks in.

just throw something heavy at the alarm box,

if that doesnt work then go to the shop in the morning and buy yourself some ear buds, you wont notice a thing

Ive done this. Removed said alarm from wall and severed the wires and the ****ing thing was still going off.

Must of had some sort of internal battery.

Call your local guards, explain that you don't think there is anyone in the house and it's wrecking your head, you can't sleep or some crap... lol

If they don't turn up within half an hour, or they don't co-operate bring up the noise pollution act and start stating facts from it about how it effects you and your surrounding neighbours. Once you know your sh!t about acts, they should listen, 'cause they're meant to know it off hand :P

Wow a lot of the advice on this thread is really disappointing. Most of it involves the OP breaking the law:rolleyes:

The humour in this thread is disappointing:mad: Oh yeah throw something heavy at the alarm or better. break into the house:rolleyes: yeah because it's that simple to just do that stuff without any remifications whatsoever. Ah screw it i'm going to Moe's.

    ...

S/he could always camp outside the place until the priest turns up, and attack said priest when he presses charges, say he said he wanted to be spot of media, like his fellow brothers!

Okay that was poor but I tried godamit!

Either stop listening to it or pray to Jesus, he can knock it off from the main office. But if he's punishing you for something it won't be shut off any time soon.

Put on some short pants and wear a satchel. Loiter outside house. Maybe a t-shirt that says "I can keep secrets".

Priest should turn up fairly quick.

Sneak into the parochial house, find a crucifix and leave a message on it that if the alarm goes off again "next time it'll be you".

only logical option is to burn the house down.
Make sure the fire starts in the bush next to the house tho, that way you can convince him that it was god calling and that god smote him for what he was out doing.

Well we rang the Guards, they checked and there was a security system in place by the landlord but unfortunately his phone number wasn't on the system

Didn't matter anyway cause about an hour after I started this thread we had a power cut and ALL the alarms in the area were going off all night... Good times :pac:

If it happens again why not phone the Diocesan authorities and ask them do they have contact details for the incoming priest or the landlord?

Well the workmen are due back this morning so we'll be having a word with them about it so hopefully it won't happen again.. Good idea though, thanks..

Why does a priest need a house alarm anyway?

Surely God will be looking out for the priest and strike down any burglars with a bolt of lightning from the heavens.

BTW, if you have a power hose, fire a jet of water just above the alarm box. They can withstand rain, but not a steady stream of water it seems. I tried this before and it shorted out the alarm circuitry. (I 'accidentally' hit the neighbours alarm box whilst washing my windows. )
