    They're talking about Kimi going to McLaren but I notice none of the websites seem to be reporting anything yet.

    Maybe 2fm were jumping the gun a bit!

    Did anyone see the F1 forum on the BBC last sunday?
    Whitmarsh gave it away when asked if Kimi is returning, he went all smiley and stuttered his way to change the subject. DC , EJ and Brundle were pissin their holes laughing at him.

    Wish they'd announce it and put me out of my misery.

    While I hate McLaren and like Kimi, I hope to God he goes back there and kicks Louie's ass.

    Wouldn;t be so sure about that. Raikkonen blows hot and cold a lot of the time. When he's on top form, then he'll have the beating of hammo. But how often will that be??? Not very often i suspect

    He already had that with Alonso.

    I'm looking forward to seeing how they pair off. Kimi won't be rattled by Hamiltons smarmy crap

    It will be interesting, McLaren will have one of the strongest driver lineup's.

    Hamilton currently has all Kimis old engineers, it will be good to see what the dynamic between the two sides of the garage is like, there is no doubt Hamilton would prefer Kovi to stay.

    As for Alonso i really hope it works out, Ferrari pushed Schumacher out to get Kimi, then pushed Kimi to get Alonso. If Kimi beats Alonso next year or helps McLaren to a constructors title it will look bad for Ferrari management.

    Assuming Kimi goes to McLaren of course :P

    To Kimi,its been great,fantastic stuff from you and I thank you.

    To Fernando,i look forward to this.

    I wouldn't go to Mclaren if I was Kimi. He'll just be No.2 to Hamilton as they'll want the British press for sponsorship and someone that can change the tone of his voice for sponsors as No.1 driver.

    Kimi's release on leaving Ferrari actually sounded pretty sad. Since he never shows any emotion, we all tend to assume he's the iceman inside and out, but it seems that he really enjoyed being in Ferrari.

    I know the driver market isn't fully settled yet for next year, but assuming that the iceman does indeed go back to McLaren, they could well have the strongest line-up on the grid.

    Was kinda hoping this all wasn't true till today.
    Silly I know, it has been the worst kept F1 secret.

    Interesting that Alonso wasn't expecting to go to Ferrari till 2011. Wonder why Ferrari pushed Kimi out when he is doing so well lately. It kinda seems he was the number 2 at Ferrari. Seeing as it all happened since Felipe's accident.

    Hope he doesn't go to MClaren.
    Would be nice to see him in Brawn I thinks.

    If he went to Mclaren then I hope he gets the better of Hamilton,which i think he can,the british press are already saying that this is the start of another Senna Prost phase(Alonso Hamilton),i think thats typical of the brits,they have discounted all the other talent in the paddock,Vettel,Rosberg,Kubica,Webber.

    I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see a repeat of 2005 with Alonso and Raikkonen,which would be hard for me as they are my 2 favorites at the minute.

    Another thing is that people are saying that Kimi is very Hot and Cold,which is true,but Hamilton can be as well,remember in Germany this year,he wanted to retire the car and when things aren't going his way he throws all his toys out of the pram.

    Should be a great few years ahead in F1 regardless,so much talent in there.

    OMFG, anyone who thinks that Raikkonen will have the legs on Hamilton next year is delusional. Its similar to the same mad comments made about Kovaleinen when he came to McLaren..."ooohhh Lewis will be really tested now".
    NOPE!
    For one, McLaren is Lewis' team.
    Two, Raikkonen is lazy and couldnt motivate a Jack Russell to fetch a stick.
    Three, Im a Ferrari fan, but Im calling a spade a spade here and Raikkonen is short of being top drawer.
    McLaren lost the drivers title in 2007 because they are a calamity of an organisation and Massa pulled over in Brazil, Raikkonen didnt win it on merit.
    Raikkonen will simply be the Eddie Irvine to Hamiltons Schumacher.
    Mark my words

    I think it's fair to say Kimi would be a triple WDC if it weren't for Mercedes' unreliability at the time. The reason Ferrari got rid of him isn't lack of talent, it's that he didn't prove dependable for them. Since he never lets anyone know what he's thinking it's easy to dismiss him as lazy or unmotivated. But the results speak for themselves, he simply should have done better and didn't keep pushing like Massa did.

    Agree with you there but Massa and Alonso isn't exactly a weak team either...

    This is great news.

    As an Alonso fan i hope this will bring him back to the top and bring some very interesting duals next season.

    Is this 3rd car thing going to happen next season?

    No chance of it as things stand, there are 13 teams confirmed for next season so with 26 cars on the grid there is no need for a third entry from anyone

    Aye the third car thing would realistically only happen if there was only 7 or 8 teams participating

    IMO that would not be very entertaining and make for very poor viewing.

    So the music has stopped and the move which will cause a domino effect of drivers all moving to fill seats vacated by other out going drivers is on:

    Kimi -> McL
    Alonso ->Fer
    Kub -> Ren
    Rosberg ->Brawn
    Bar ->williams
    heid ->FI
