    Is there anything to look out for when buying break pads, is there a difference in th etype of rubber etc?

    If you have normal rims ie not fancy shmancy carbon rims the ordinary BBB ones should do the job for normal commuting training puposes.

    Just replaced my brake pads there last weekend - Swissstop Greens FTW.

    Made a huge difference compared to stock campagnolo pads, and are supposed to be almost better in the wet than in the dry.

    The other thing to remember is to make sure you have the pads toed in - does make a difference by itself - and clean the braking surface every now and then when it gets dirty dirty (mavic does an abrasive rubber block that's very good for this)
