Are there any off-road mountain bike areas in Galway city?

As above, anybody know where to go? Trying to get back into it after years away.

And I don't mean Barna Woods or similar park, where the terrain is great, but you'll end up killing pedestrians!

Any good spots for a bit of off-roading?

    :)

It's not Galway city now but past Ougherard there is a purpose built mountain biking track, that does a loop from the mountains to the corrib, you can take a couple of routes around it from 5 km to about 30 km. Nice views and cycles.

There's been a few threads about this here before- do a bit of searching- just type in Clarinbridge, mtb and that should get you results....
