    picked up this tip off a friend of mine over the w-end.When playing from heavy rough only around the green with a wedge seperate your bottom hand completely far enough that's it's just on the stell of the shaft.Open the face and swing through as you normally would.
    The results i had with this technique were very impressive.
    Try it and let me know how you get on.Btw i play off 5 so i'm not a hacker but would be interested how the higher hcp's get on with this,seems almost impossible to chunk it

    When you separate your hands like this it really promotes a fast wrist cock, which is exactly what you need to get out of heavy rough. It also works very well for shots not around the green with anything up to a 6-5 iron.

    yeah tried that with a 6 and didn't like it myself ,to be honest i use my wedge for almost every shot around the green so it's not a shot i'm gr8 at anyway.
    I play off 5 and i love the reaction of higher hcp's in particular when i use this technique for the first time,they can't beleive the results,i don't see many people using it but it very effective for me.
