I really liked it! There was a lot of story. Robert Knepper's character is now actually very intriguing. Peter didn't use a single power through the whole episode, yet his story was compelling. Knepper seems to want to set Peter up as the leader of the carnival but they still haven't given away the vaguest hint of their intentions/motivations. I like this cos it's setting things up nicely before showing us the overall plotline, which is cool.

Claire's stuff was kinda boring but it's a lot better than what she's been doing since season one (as she's moaning a bit less). I reckon she's gonna lez it up with Gretchen (who probably has a power).

The deaf woman is defo gonna be a love interest for Peter.

Parkman/Sylar storyline is awesome because Sylar's lines are hilarious. "Did he- I can't believe people actually say that!" Quinto's the man.

Though he wasn't in this episode, I'm glad to see the triumphant return of the Haitian, whose real character name is apparently gonna be revealed this season. I'd prefer not to know it but whatev.

The episode was kinda slow moving but Samuel's story/character is really interesting so I liked it a lot.

Looks like Mohinder has been downgraded to guest-star. Sendhil Ramamamurty's name doesn't appear in the cast credits at the start and the VO intro/outro thing seems to be left in the dirt. I've seen set pics of him this series though so he will make an appearance. Also, IMDB says he'll be in the next episode "Acceptance", but IMDB isn't the most reliable sometimes....

Very slow ep. - loved the Sylar/Parkman dynamic....especially how Sylar used Parkman's powers against him. No idea what Sue FBEye deaf chick is doing?.....do her powers have any purpose other then being pretty to look at?

Thing is, it was OK....but, it's NOT good at all for the show....why?, it's too slow, the arc should have been explained by now or at least hints. It's like the show is no longer Heroes but each Hero being redeemed or some crap.

It's gonna tank in the ratings, the excitement is gone, so are the big arcs and direction of the show....tis like a superhero love story or dramedy. Get to the point!....Knepper is good to watch, Sylar is just frickin' ace.....evil genius that he is.

Zima and Hayden gonna get it on????....don't go there!, it was ok for the most part but added nothing new and i fear the average watcher will turn off.

That was easily the most enjoyable episode of Heroes since the first series and for the first time ever I didn't want to punch Peter in the face, as his scenes were good.
The Sylar/Parkman stuff is epic and I'm liking Knepper's character, but have no idea what he's up to.
I think some hot lesbian action between Claire and Gretchen is definitely needed.
Hopefully they can keep it at this level throughout series 4 and that it doesn't start going downhill.

An enjoyable episode but still a bit slow moving, and I'm afraid Heroes could get caught by it's usual trap of just not having a storyline or final objective. We are 3 eps in now and we still don't know what's going to happen. Some characters are starting to develop but I can't imagine what type of hero the deaf lady is going to be. The writers must think that Clare is some sort of goldmine for the ratings and haven't learnt from previous seasons.

I think they need to let Skyler out and let him run havok and maybe run into the Sullivans fairground crew. I'm enjoying Keppers parts maybe a character to rival Skyler.

Over all a week 7 out of 10 but hope its going to have purpose in the next couple of episodes.Very little powers used this episode are they turning it into Smallville?

I thought it was very good. Sylar messing with Parkman's head and Parkman finally giving in and using his powers to save his bacon was definitely the best part of the episode.

Robert Knepper was good too and a nicely nuanced character, going from "just wanted to go home" to leveling the place...

Peter was pretty interesting too and I liked the bit of mystery with the deaf girl, rather than another power added to the mix - it's not too clear yet what her power is/does exactly. And I hope there is more to her story than just another love interest.

Clare as usual was the weakest link but at least there was no Hiro/Ando crap at all, Tracy or even Nathan. The show is all the better for it without them in it. In fact, focusing on even just two stories/threads per episode (Clare's could have been dropped) works much better IMO, rather than having a bazillion threads of 2-3 minutes each...

Would you not think shes a bit old for a love interest for Peter?

It was pretty slow, but I really liked the pathos throughout the episode - the deaf woman's (supposed) synaesthesia, the carnival man's interactions with Peter and his rejection from his former home, even Parkman's scenes and him being played by Sylar. At least they're kind of making us care about (some) of the characters again.

They do seem to be hinting at Clare and Gretchen's relationship going.....somewhere. If so, it will possibly be the most blatantly ridiculous way of getting viewers there's ever been.

I thought it was pretty good. If you look back on season 1 episodes there were a few like this that were slow moving but building towards something bigger. I also like the way they have come back to showing characters discovering their powers ala the hearing impaired lady.

Hopefully her powers and Samuel's attempts to get Peter to be more compassionate/empathic will lead to Peter being able to accumulate some powers and eventually we'll see a massive Peter vs Nathan or Sylar fight.

Also enjoying the Parkman/Sylar scenes. It is really much more interesting to have the sylar thing split into the physical thing with Nathan and the mental thing with Parkman.

    I liked it.

No Hero and Ando, and no water woman or whoever she is this week. That's a plus.

Parkman / Sylar's story is great, new carnival guy is interesting.

Actually looking forward to next week.

You got a source for that or is it actually not definite at all and merely your opinion?

I agree. I think the dynamic of the first season was great. There were some episodes where someone's story would be moving quite slowly (for instance, Hiro and Ando being in Vegas for the laugh) but it would be contrasted by something drastic happening in another plot-line (eg. Future Hiro appearing to Peter Petrelli). There were a couple filler episodes in S1 ("Nothing To Hide" and "Godsend" for example) but they were still really entertaining episodes.

I think my favourite part about season one was that there were lots of threads that were cleared up as the season moved along but we knew that the overall arc of the bomb was still looming. I remember wondering what Sylar looked like for weeks before it was eventually revealed. I also remember wondering how was saving the cheerleader going to save the world. Those were big mysteries that were set up and then put to bed as the story progressed. It was like getting a little reward every few weeks!

Pretty much everything I was gonna say.

Hiro and Ando can really drag down the episodes they're in sometimes.

Sylar still has it, great lines & delivery from Quinto.

    Thought this episode was good.

Sylar was great messing with parkman, and the line that cracked me up was "Have you ever seen yourself eat a burito?"

Claire was a bit boring, no silly Hiro and Ando was a relief though.

Liked the deaf womans power, pretty different and not really obvious how it will come in handy. I do think that she could be a love interest for peter even if she is older.

Carnie guy seems to be playing it very cool, I'm curious as to what his group does and what role does he was peter to replace.

Very very slow. I found myself fiddling around with other things when Claire and her Daddy issues came round.

They've played that TO DEATH already. It's sooo boring.

Loving Peter, Sylar and yer man from prison break.

This was the best episode of Heroes in AGES.

For the first time in yonks I was able to tolerate the scenes involving Parkman. I like the fact Sylar is causing him problems.

Claire and Gretchen look to be getting very friendly which gets the thumbs up from me and the villain of the series seems very interesting.

Hopefully they don't balls it all up as it's quite promising.
