    Hi just wondering, i applied to join the garda's last december! i have not heard anything from them regarding the test or anything!

    Does any one know how long it takes from when you apply to get a date for the test?

    Where have you been for the last few months?

    The whole thing is frozen for awhile, look at the other threads for more info

    Hi there, welcome to the forum. There is a recruitment ban in the public sector at the moment so there have not been any new recruitment since May 08 as a result. There are alot of people on here in your position, and updates such as paper articles are posted indicating when the ban may be lifted. The fact is, nobody knows anything for sure. Have a look around the Applying to Join thread, there is alot of info in there.

    I'm not trying to be funny, but it would probably help you at interview stage if you learned the plural of Garda.
