    Over a year waiting?!

I'd be marching into your local office and demanding to know why you've been waiting over a year for your backpayment.

On the subject of backpayment I left my job voluntarily and will therefore not receive my first jobseekers benefit payment until 5th December. Will I get a backpayment to the date that I originally signed on (5th October)?

No, that's kind of the point - you don't get paid for 9 weeks.

Hi, I've a quick question if you wouldn't mind? I recieved the letter saying I can make my first claim this Friday, in the post today for JSB. It says nothing about a back payment on the letter, however I initiated the process for a claim early Sept when I was let go. Would I be paid for the interim weeks between Sept and now, or should I take Fridays claim as my week one and go from there?
I don't want to seem greedy but I could really use the extra money as the last few weeks have been tight.
I've tried contacting my local office and unfortunately there's no reply, they've been swamped recently though in fairness.
    Thanks.

You will likely recieve a cheque for the backpay in the post, assuming you didn't get a huge redundancy cheque.

I've got a probably stupid question. I received a letter saying that my first payment will be in the Post Office next Monday and every wedneday after that...does that include next wednesday too???

You would be best off going down on both days, as my wife's first payment arrived on a tuesday which was the previous weeks payment, and then she went down on wednesday to get that weeks payment.

cheers Jim. I will head in on the wed to be safe. I will hold my paw out for my dosh and they will tell me to F**K off.... ah well haha.

Ohh and just to be safe/not done for fraud etc, bring the letter with you on both days.
If you collect on Monday and then go back in on Wed and there's no money just explain to the person behind the counter about what the letter says.
The post office people, as far as I'm aware, don't actually know what monies/people will be collecting on a particular day until they come in so they might think there is a problem or a possible case of attempted fraud unless you explain why you are there twice in one week.

Problably not going to be an issue, but better safe then sorry.

    Hi Guys
Just wondering about back pay. When I went to the post office on my first time I just got a normal week , Do they post you out a cheque for your back pay rather than collect it in the post office.
