Saturday week in the park 10:30am start, www.funrun.ie.
€20 to enter, not so bad for compared to some others that are on in the near future.
They suggest €150 of a donation but it's not needed, you can register online with just the fee for the race.

Doing this on Saturday morning. Ran DCM last year in 3:28 so I'd like to think I can run a decent time in this. I've never run any other races though so I was wondering does anyone have any tips for this? I'm expecting it all to be a bit messy at the start...

If its the same course as last year I'd advise you to keep something in the tank for the last mile - its uphill and includes the kyper pass which will really hurt if you go off too fast, however, if you hold something back you'll be passing loads of people which is a great mental boost.

Does anyone know if the course has changed this year due to the works on Mountjoy Roundabout? I ran past on Tuesday, and unless they plan to direct the race onto the footpath it won't be possible to run last years course as the road is dug up from about 100m before the roundabout.

The route is pretty much the adidas 5 miler in reverse except it goes down the furry glen instead of staying up on the road.

I asked Dublin Simon to update the course map but that didn't happen. I mapped the (guessed) route on Gmaps Pedometer and emailed them but didn't get a reply.

It's a pity that it has to go down the Furry Glen as the exit hill will sap away a bit of time.

    That was fun today.
To get a good time it is crucial to put yourself toward the front at the start.

The 800m kids runners (8-12yrs) did well - some good running in there. Winner finished in 3:00.

I heard Kevin Kilbane being called home around 33-34 mins. And the some members of the Dublin GAA football team (no one I recognised) jogged home in about 38mins.

The baggage tent was manned. While this did lead to a little bit of queuing it was reassuring to know your stuff was safe.

    30m50s for me.

37.35 for me. Which is only 5 secs oustide my PB, so I was happy considering the hills today. Started well down the field so I paid the price with a very slow first mile. Heard the announcer call out Kevin Kilbane's name but surely it wasn't the Kevin Kilbane playing tonight?
There seemed to be a big enough field. I saw race numbers into the 2,600's. It all makes for a better athmosphere

Kevin Kilbane as is in the Kevin Kilbane? or Kevin Kilbane from the forum... I missed both of them! I saw 4 lads in Dublin tops but didn't recognise them.

I now know what you look like daymo - got a couple of photos of you.

Oh yeah - what was the deal with the lack of bibs? In about half my photos people aren't wearing one. Safety pin shortage? If anyone sees a shot of themselves with no bib number could you leave a comment and let me know the bib number? That way I can move the photo out of the unclassified photos, meaning that people will have less to sift through. Cheers.

I didn't see any numbers below 600 though... still, huge numbers in the race alright.

over 2500 in it..Some bright spark decided to issue stick on numbers which didnt stick!! Mine fell off before the start so I got safety pins . The girl gave me 1 pin!!!
That course had 3 sets of climbs and was even harder than last year. Forget about times on it and save it for a flat course.

The announcer said that this Kevin Kilbane was heading off to Malahide to join the squad. Having said that, the announcer is quite the joker so maybe I could take his statements with a pinch of salt. I'll email Dublin Simon to ask them - maybe KK is one of their celeb patrons.

I thought that the stickers were a good idea and my sticker didn't move, though I added 2 pins to be sure. I am surprised that the stickers apparently failed for so many people.

Haha, Kevin Kilbane was me! I was wearing an Ireland jersey as a salute to the match last night and the announcer (absolute legend) was calling me Kevin Kilbane as I was finishing. 34.26. Didn't feel too good at all, needing to use the toilet so badly after 2 miles. Very uncomfortable for the rest but I suppose it's an ok time. I probably should've just stopped and peed.

Uploaded a shot of you to RacePix365 yesterday Zinedine. From the angle I was at I couldn't make out your number so you'll have to go through them all unfortunately to find it.
