    hey i ve jus finished college in may did four years. was working every year part time (fri sat and sun)and full time in summer and even had a year out for full time work. went in to apply for job seekers allowance for the days i wasn working because all i could get was three days work. first they said i was entitled and i ve been fillings in the yellow dockets all summer. got letter three weeks ago saying i was entitled to a weekly rate of 135 and the cheque would be issued but now it still hasn come and i asked in the welfare office and they said i wasnt entitled to it as i was only working one day which i wasnt cause was working at least 3-4 days in college term and only 3 during summer! does anyone know if im am entitled?have to go back in wed ask lady who was dealing with my case because others didn know bout it. lady is on hols! can anyone help me understand!

    do you still have the letter that said what they'd be paying you?

    You should be entitled to it since you've finished college. I'm afraid you'll have to go in to the social welfare office and sort it out with them - a trip to Citizens Information beforehand wouldn't go amiss to educate yourself and find out exactly what to say to them :)

    thanks ya still have letter from them but on the same day got one that said i wasn entitled to unemployment benefit but i didnt apply for that only applied for job seekers allowance so im a bit confused!!:confused:

    You wouldn't have been entitled to Jobseeker's Benefit, because you had no loss - in days worked or earnings. You were always doing 3 days a week. This is why you would have to apply for Jobseeker's Allowance. This is a means tested payment - your earnings will be taken into account here as means which could be why you would only receive 135 euro. You need to go in there in person and ask - and if you are still confused, ask again!

    ok was told today im not entitled to jsb because i was working three days!so now after 14 weeks after signing on i have to go to meeting for jsa to see if i can back claim from that! they should have known that at the beginnin so annoying!and still dont know if i ll get anything luckily now i have started getting full time work!
