Dont know if this has been posted yet but looks like a great idea. I've booked my ticket anyway.

Does anybody know anything else about this? How many tickets will be available? I'm assuming the amount of tickets would be limited to a couple of hundred? Would John Treacy be sticking around afterwards for photos etc?

The reason I ask is that the one time I met John Treacy my batteries in my camera were completely dead and so didnt get a picture taken with him. As a massive fan I was gutted!!:(

I bought a ticket for this event, and it got postponed shortly after with the new date to be announced a few days later. Well a new date STILL hasnt been announced. I've emailed the AAI twice on this matter. The first time asking when it will be on, the second time asking the same thing but also that I expect a refund if this event doesnt take place. On both occasions I have got no reply.

I know its only €10 but its the principals of it! Disgraceful in my opinion.

It has become quite evident to me that the reason that the event was cancelled is because of the clash with the Ireland V Montenegro game. I believe that it is about time that this country took a good look at itself because athletics should take priority over soccer any day of the week. After all we must remember the number of Irish athletes who have become world champions: Delaney, O'Sullivan, Coughlan, and Tracey himself, to name just a few. When we look at the number of Irish soccer players who have become world class there is only one name Roy Keane. How then in this day and age can soccer take priority over athletics when the most that we can expect from our national team is that they will one day reach the level of pure mediocrity.

controversial as some would say the likes of Ronnie Whelan, Liam Brady and McGrath were world class as well...

Soccer is more popular sport worldwide, has more money behind it and will get higher ratings on television..

Giles, Brady, and McGrath were all world class players.

This is probably why it was cancelled yes! But thats not the point here. The point is the AAI said they would announce a new date early the following week after it was cancelled. This has not happened, and there is no sign of them thieves refunding our money. Its only €10, but its the principles of it!

    I've emailed

Try call, I find emails can be easily put aside while a phonecall can't. I would imagine its a lack of diligence as opposed to daylight robbery is the reason for the lack of response so this

Is it a full moon tonight or something?

As Tingle said phone the AAI but accusing them of theft on a public forum is a bit OTT.
