Hi,need some help with the following.
I hav a western digital 500gb hard drive which has just failed,,it powers up fine but pc cannot read the drive,it wont even register as a portable device.
Just wondering if the data can be retrieved from it and put onto another hard drive.
living in the limerick area. is there anyone who does this kind of thing???

Hit start button, right click my computer and go to manage.

In the window that opens up go to disk management and see if you can see the drive ! Post back what info you can see regarding the external drive.
