Hope this hasnt been asked before but I got the HD installed and someone told me that I should have a different TV guide. I am still seeing the one that displayed with the Sky+

Is there something I should be changing?

Depends on the box. Some HD boxes have the new software (forced update may be required if install is new), while some are still awaiting the update as it's a phased basis still ongoing.

Thanks byte. The box is an Amstrad and it was a straight swap for the old Sky+ box I had installed. So it may take a little while for an update then.

yea, there are still some bugs on the amstrad boxes so they wont release the new setup till they have been all worked out.. Nobody seems to know how long though.

I got a box replacement during the week, the old box was a Thomson and new one is Samsung. I had the old HD Guide but the Samsung doesn't. Does anyone know if Samsung boxes have the new guide? I rang Sky and they said the box will pull down the new guide within a couple of weeks. I was just getting used to the new guide and now I'm back to the old one :(

The new guide is rubbish. The only benefits are that you can view synopsis of programmes on other channels with the search and scan. ITV HD is also viewable for those interested.

I find recording can be hit and miss and the remote control tends to be unresponsive from time to time. No such problems with the old EPG.

I had the same issues as you Mossy after the EPG update on a Thompson box. I have now replaced both the PSU and HDD, and have had no trouble since.
