hi, just wondering if anyone can help me with a problem
I cant seem to access http://reviews.harmony-central.com/ on my mac. I've tried several browsers but no luck. Funny thing is, I can get it no problem on my windows machine on the same network  any ideas?

running firefox. could your firewall be blocking it??

doesn't seem to be a firewall issue. This has just started happening over the past month. I'm definatly not barred or blocked from the site as I am not even a member.

did u update ur browser? wat browser u running? or are cookies blocked? could be the settings on ur browser. as i have found when u download a different browser on mac sometimes it copies your settings from your existing browser like bookmarks and stuff

ah, I forgot about the exporting browser settings thing on Macs. That might be why none of my browsers are working, it must be a common problem with my settings. I just cant figure out what though. Cookies are enabled. I'm gonna try downloading Opera and using it without importing settings. Cheers.

my firefox is running it fine no matter what i change. did u get a new router by any chance?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 699 ✭✭✭ball ox

same router I've always had. When I use windows through bootcamp or paralells I can access the site fine. I might just try uninstalling whatever browsers I have alltogether an then installing firefox from scratch.

yeah its only that one site. I've tried accessing it through different extensions of the same address and google links but still no luck. I'm not sure when it was exactly that I could no longer access it so cant really link it to a certain event

did some googling and someone seems to be having a similar problem to yours. tried quite a few things and it worked so isnt exactly sure wat fixed it :)

this is the link for wat i found. i would avoid the archive and install and use as the last resort :)http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-751498.html

thanks for that mazthespark, gonna try those solutions. I can't access any of the sites listed there either so I'm obviously not alone on this one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 630 ✭✭✭mazthespark

no problem :) thats one of the best mac forums around chances are if u have a problem the solution is up there somewhere

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 699 ✭✭✭ball ox

hmm, none of those fixes seem to work, don't think I'll bother with archive and install though, it's not that big a problem. I wonder if all of those sites have something in common......
not the end of the world anyway, I can still use parallels should I need to get on to harmony central. Thanks a mill for the help mazthespark.
