Think my HDD may be on the way out

    Have a TB HDD, and it's slow installing stuff. Sometimes just ends up freezing. Can copy stuff off it, etc, but it also appears as BzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBz when I'm booting up sometimes, which is worrying.

    Should I just unplug it until I get a spare, and copy from it then, or should it be okay once I don't use it that often (It's my old "storage" drive ;))?

    Run chkdsk against the drive.

    If it reports errors then your disk may be silently corrupting your data. If this is the case then, copy what you need and replace it asap

    open cmd

    run chkdsk c: /F
