    29 shekels.

Call an insurance company to find out what that is in Euro.

Would that be the Aprilia RS50?

If so the insurance company is thinking you are young and like to go fast, and would be a great customer to have. ;)

Best advise for that age is to get some insurance history before picking a racing replica bike. Just one years no claims on a scooter/moped will help loads when the time comes to move into the higher insurance groups. Of course it is all relative when the cost in the first place is so high.

If you do go and get a quote do let us know what it is. Will help other people asking similar questions. We get a few on here.

In France that would be around €400 EUR. In Ireland, around €1500 EUR. Rip-off? NEVER!!!

Must have been some inflation in France since you were last there Steffano ;)

those 50cc "sports" bikes are a rip off both in price and insurance. theres a lovely dragstar 125 on adverts. http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php?product=146609&cat=47. its worth a look, at least he won't look like a vietnamese prostitute going around and that beast. :)

    Yes! A lot!

When I got my moped at age 14, my fully comp. insurance was around 800 Francs (or 122 EUR). Just did an online quote for a RS50 (for a 16 year old living in Toulouse) and got just under €400 EUR for 3rd party.

Things have changed since 1994! :D

Just got quotes for myself on yamaha tzr 50, 3rd party insurance with a provisional licence for a 16 year old:
    Carole Nash quoted me 1600
    AON quoted me 1000
    Quinn-direct quoted me 800

That doesn't qualify as a moped. A moped can't exceed 45km/h. You won't have a licence to ride it till you turn 17.

    I never knew they'd changed A1 to 16, I thought it was 17:o

What's the point in having an M licence now, or is it just a EU hangover and they won't let us have M licences at 14?

I'm also 16 on a provisional and looking at both the Yamaha TDR 125 and Honda NSR 80.

Could someone tell me roughly how much insurance would cost on these.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

anyone looking for estimates for quotes get onto the insurance companies... everything else is just rumour/hearsay and you could be in for a shock if you go and buy a bike based on some randomers advice on the net

insurance for a tzr50 at 16? I'd say 200e-4500e depending on omitted details
