I'm quite confident for this one Stoke are usually quite a tough nut to crack but they had a carling cup match midweek and didnt have the luxury of resting players like we had. I would say 0-2 for united with Rooney and Berba getting the goals.

Danny Collins is a real weakness in the Stoke defence since his move from Sunderland. He's a centre-half but Tony Pulis is playing him at left back. If he plays there Valencia will rip him apart. Only saw the highlights, and read a Stoke forum out of interest (as he recently moved from Sunderland) but he looked appalling against Chelsea all their moves seemed to come down that side, and he gave away a ridiculous penalty at Bolton.

I know from following Sunderland how s***e he is at left back, no pace whatsoever.

Never an easy place to go but as long as we don't gift Stoke any goals like we did against City i'm confident we'll get the win. Valencia in for Park is the only change id make from the team that started last Sunday.

A repeat of last season....scrappy game, supersub Tevez Owen getting late winner ;) 1-0 to the United

I'm obviously hoping that Stoke gets the win but i see utd winning this comfortably by at least 2 goals.

I can see United winning but it won't be easy, Stoke are far too stubborn at home

He could decide to drop players ahead of the Wolfsburg game. I personally don't think he will. He will respect stoke too much for that as they aren't a soft touch unlike alot of other teams in the league.

Owen and Rooney to start hopefully. Would like to see Welbeck get the last 30mins too if winning. I am going with 0-2 United win.

I'd say stoke will score at least one. Foster's back in goal and Stoke have 2 wins from 3 matches at home so far this season. That said Liverpool hit 4 without reply at Anfield. I'll go 2-1 Utd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,900 ✭✭✭Eire-Dearg

Utd win, 1-0 or maybe 2-1.

Can see Stoke holding firm for most of the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 988 ✭✭✭manutd

I hope Owen and Ronney start, with Rooney coming off if winning after the hour mark, with Welbeck coming on.

I think we will be lucky to keep a clean sheet, with utd to win 2-1 or 3-1, with Owen scoring.

Nani's play in general is very good but his decision making is awful, simply awful. I thought he had improved at start of season but he is back to square one it seems!!!

    This.

He's got great talent, but not yet the brain to use it. A lot like Ronaldo at first tbh.

Nani is basically a Foosball player. When he gets the ball, half the time he'll keep possession, the other half give it away, the odd time he'll score a cracker but he needs a good few swings at it. And he's wooden...?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,352 ✭✭✭daveyboy_1ie

Yeah i have been saying that all along, Ronaldo was only good in his first full two seasons at OT, its only when Van the man left did he step up to the mantle. i was hoping the same would happen with nani and so far it ain't happend although his Charity Shield and Wigan performances were great. then I dunno what happened..............

Stoke are defending well, United need to continue to play their passing game and the break will come.

Even then I disagree. He is so unintelligent with the ball.

He loses the ball way more than half the time. His crossing rarely beats the first man, or if it does, he way overhits it. His dribbling is ineffective most of the time but he does have pace. He can strike a ball to be fair but not nearly consistant enough and like was said he chooses the wrong decision nearly always.

Comparing him to Ronaldo is an insult to Ronaldo even when he first came.

Nani doesnt have anywhere near the ability or talent Ronaldo did/does.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 988 ✭✭✭manutd

Will be hard to come out of this. Only game without a goal.
Come on utd the break will come. Will Owen start the secord half.

    No he doesn't.

he reminds me of an early Ronaldo too, the one that was called a one trick pony, remember?

Would have to agree with CoachBoone about Nani.

that was the exclamation mark on Nani's performance.

I think Giggs on for Nani willl make a huge difference. Giggs would tear lumps out of Huth.
