I dont want people saying yes/ no to Lisbon, just want to ask the Q
Are we being treated like fools by the government asking us the same thing twice?

Yes we are, I'm voting no.

No. And I hate the way it's being talked about like something Zimbabwe would do. They can make us vote as many times as they like, but if we keep voting no then it's never going to be ratified.

People can change their minds, so I don't see anything wrong with being asked to vote again over a year later.

No. Concerns were identified and addressed. It's perfectly democratic to to this and put it to vote again.

As far as I know, they can only ask twice.

There's nothing in our Constitution that puts a 'cap' on the maximum number of times a referendum can be asked otherwise we're stuck with no abortion forever!

There's no precedent for a third referendum on an EU treaty, however.

    Yes we are.

    Did I answer right?

If I didn't you can ask me again and I'll try and give you the answer you want.

    Cordially,

Anyone who votes differently this time around is admitting to themselves that they are an idiot who cannot be trusted to vote responsibly.

    No.
I would have voted no last time, but I was to young.

I don't agree with many points on the treaty and see very little good in it.

Alot of people are being led to believe that they've altered it to suit the Irish

It hasn't been changed one bit, just 'clarified' for us stupid people that voted No first time round

and don't even get me started on the scaremongering

The only people calling no voters stupid is, funnily enough, no voters.

It's got nothing to do with being stupid, and everything to do with being mislead, misinformed or just not understanding it. And I don't mean any of that in a disrespectful way. The yes campaign first time round was awful, they put practically no effort in to inform people. This time, they've only done slightly better but people by and large seem to be more interested and are making more of an effort to find out themselves.

And it's not a secret that the treaty hasn't changed, despite what many no campaigners would lead people to believe. It wasn't need to be changed because, believe it or not (and I'm sure you won't) it didn't need to be changed.

True, but you have to give it to Tadhg Kenelley, he played out of his skin.

Can you honestly say that people are changing their minds simply because of the clarifications made, or do you think that the fear of what might happen if the result is the same as last time is playing a part?

I seen a great billboard in town today.. it was a picture of a sign-post with 2 directions on it

on one side it said 'Ruin' and appeared to point down a gloomy road, on the other it said 'recovery' and it was all nice and bright on that side.. Yes to Europe my hole!

And I love how the Yes side constantly talk about lies from the No side... delicious ironing

They have done a hell of a lot more this time round.
Both in throwing posters fcuking everywhere and making the place look a kip and subtle things that give you a positive about Lisbon in general.
The Air Lingus cheap flights to Lisbon with the mellow, relaxing add?

There's much, much more as well.
    Keep your eyes open.

And a lot of people are being led to believe that 'clarified' means nothing. These 'clarifications' are being attached to the treaty that will be put into law by the Eu. So they are legally binding clarifications.
