Dole after working out of the country for the past year

I've been living in the UK and working as a contractor for almost a year. I'm thinking of coming home next month when my current contract ends.

Would I be entitled to the full dole? I have been paying tax here in the UK for the whole year, and previous to that I had been working for several years full time.

Depending on your PRSI contributions, you may qualify for Jobseeker's Benefit. If you worked and paid PRSI for 39 weeks in 2007, and have paid 104 contributions overall, you will qualify for JSB which is not means assessed. Depending on the number of contributions you have overall you can receive this for 9 or 12 months.
If not, you have to apply for Jobseekers Allowance which is means assessed. Means can be from spouse/partner earnings, savings, property, Parents earnings (benefit and privilege), etc. Have a look at the frequently asked questions.
You will need your P45 from the UK though, or some sort of proof you were living there for the year to satisfy the Habitual Residence condition.
