Same here but anyways what year is it & is it a 1.0 ltr?

I drive a 2000 polo & just reached 70000 miles... I have it a year & a half.. and year with no problems and another half a year of hell

    1. New battery
    2. New starting motor
    3. EPC light flashes up every now & again & then turns off when I go into 3rd gear
    4. Decides itself whether to start or not... starts when its left for a few hours & then if its left for a few mins it wont (I really enjoy planning my day around whether my cars gonna start or not). The garage told me to get rid of it (if I could get a loan I would) and that he was not touching it & told me to bring it to a VW Garage (they charge 125 euro before they tell you whats wrong).
    5. Indicator broke
    6. The barrel in the door broke & its was great fun for 6 months jumping in & out of the passanger door because I couldn't pull the lock up from the inside!
    7. One of my headlamps smashed too

I got the tracking done then too & amazingly AFTER it was done my wheel wore down on one side... that supposed to happen when your tracking is off

A grand so far this year! And I aint payin no more!

Actually I'll sell ya mine for a grand...

I see what you did there. Unfortunately it would have worked better if you'd used this link:

Yeah VW's have gone downhill in recent years, I know a few people who had them with problems similar to these, starter motor etc... I believe passats are being done away with as company cars now as well because of problems with them, but then again if the price is right!

EDIT: which I don't know if it is because that link doesn't work!

Oh jesus I was about to post a pic of a polo mint too :p. 'The mint with the hole' or 'the car is a pain in the hole', 'it leaves a hole in your pocket' etc.
