SKY-HD Guide on Samsung

    Hi All,

    rang sky to see when i'd get my new HD guide to-day. They told me that i'd have itin the next 10days.

    is this another SKY LIE ???? Or has anyone got it on a Samsung box yet ?

    Hi,
    I have a Samsung box. Dont have it yet and havent been informed otherwise (I believe Sky send out a letter if you are due to get the upgrade any time soon)

    No it was quoted as being released over the coming 3-4 weeks by sky 2 weeks ago on another website so I would expect what your saying to be true...however Amstrad boxes will still be waiting...

    I got a Samsung as a replacement box during the week, the Sky engineer said the box will pull down the HD guide in the next couple of weeks. I rang Sky just to see if they knew any different and they pretty much said the same thing.

    My friend as got it, well he moved to the UK last year.

    Next Tuesday or Thursday at around 3 am is a reasonable guess as that is 3 weeks from the last updates and with previous box makes during the Spring a 3 week gap to evaluate any problems was typical.
    All the downloads occurred on one of these days at around 3 / 4 am.

    IF this is going to occur two things will happen over the next 2 - 3 days.

    (1) The new EPG guide will reappear on Anytime. Its not there now and it has been for all past downloads.

    (2) People will report getting the info packs from Sky. In the past most of these have arrived on Saturdays and Monday of the week when a download is coming. So if there are posts on here reporting the packs a download is probably coming next week. If there are not it will probably be the week after.

    As there seem no reports of serious problems with the first Samsung trial batch I think next week is pretty possible. But that is just an informed guess based on how Sky have managed the downloads so far

    l have it on my Pace and its a f'ing nightmare, very user unfriendly.
    The old epg was much better
