    Hi

i have a query. i did the ceard teastas in the university of limerick back in 1998. it involved a year of doing irish and i passed it thank god. i was looking through my little tui handbook and discovered that you are payed for having this acendeic qualification. to the tune of 4500 euro each year. does this apply to me or is this some other qualification that i havent done? i have checked my pay slip and its not on it.

    thanks:cool:

You're not paid for the Ceard Teastas.
'An Teastas i dTeagasc na Gaeilge le honoracha' is not the Ceard Teastas.
It's an exam for teaching Irish, described here:http://www.examinations.ie/index.php?l=en&mc=ex&sc=ig

The Ceard Teastas (oral and written) used to be required to work in a VEC school.

If you have the other qualification, make sure your employers know.
