NONE! Read the stickies here and in the fitness forum. Wealth of free info there. i lost over 5 stone through healthy eating and moderate exercise and was never starved or lacking in energy. I was more energetic. You need to educate yourself properly on nutrition and the stickies are the best way to start.

Sticky's are threads at the top of each forum which usually have the most common questions covered.

Great info on Diet and Excercise for weight loss there.

Alli is the half strength version of the prescription drug Xenical. The studies on Alli were actually done on Xenical and then just assumed. So the results are: After a year, the dieters on Xenical lost 6lb more than the dieters on a placebo. That is satistically significant, but it means you could logically only expect an increased weight loss of 3lb on Alli, over a full year.

Don't forget Alli is expensive, and has some really nasty side effects. It works by stopping your body absorbing all the fat in a meal, and causing you to excrete the extra fat. The Alli website uses words like "anal slippage" which is the polite term for pooping yourself. The website advices you to carry spare underwear and to wear dark coloured trousers.

Just for the laugh, try youtubing "alli accidents".

This is also some feedback which suggests that user are using Alli as a laxative after a binge. Not good.

    Silver is useless.

I too lost 5 stone, take UL student's advice. It's all about what you eat. I don't exercise any more than I used to (about 3 hours a week), other than lifting some weights. Giving up all wheat would probably be a good place to start.

    Hi lucy_gun01

I really do think that you can lose that weight by yourself without any pills. I recently lost almost a stone by following weightwatchers religiously for about 6 weeks and then carrying the habits I learned into daily life. You may feel that weightwatchers is not for you, that's fine, I just liked knowing exactly what I had to do to lose weight. A huge part of weight loss is portion control. You can read lots about that on this forum. I used to go to the gym three times a week and wasn't seeing alot of results weight-wise. I can see now that I was just eating too much food and feeling lethargic because of it! Start eating healthily, eating smaller amounts (you can always have more if you still feel hungry 20 mins later) and there's still space in your diet for chocolatey treats (or whatever you like).

One thing that really helped me is reading the threads on this board. There are so many wise posters who know sooo much about nutrition and diet. They really made me look hard at what I was eating. Maybe have a look at the food diaries (also linked at the top of the forum) for inspiration. I don't have my own food diary but have taken so much from just reading them and keeping up with how people are doing.

    Hope this helps :)
