Do any Irish ISP's offer static IP addresses?

The reason I ask Is I'm looking at buying a domain name and I would prefer to host it myself instead of shared hosting.

All of them do. Most of them require you to have a business package but I believe Smart offer one for a small fee each month.

EDIT: Actually, just found it - 5MB package for €16.50... not too bad.

All imagine DSL has a static IP, IBB Breeze also has a static IP, as cpu-dude Pointed out, most will provide one for a fee anyway

No ISP will allow you to host your own server, it'll be against the terms of use. It's also a very, very bad idea. Hosting only costs about €50 a year.

Really? What are people using static IP's for?

No idea, I don't think you really need one. Don't run a web server on it though, it'll be unreliable and quite probably slow, depending on the content and number of hits you get at any time. If the web server hogs your upload, you're download will go to pot, leaving your Internet connection fairly borked.

I'm not looking to host the next twitter here, it would be a personal webpage/pet project.

If I have a static IP address attached to my PC all I have to do is install apache and BOOM I can host a website.
