Just wondering who people think will win the premier league.. Im planning on having a good bet on either Utd or Chelsea..At the start of the season i was tipping chelsea as ronaldo and tevez had left Utd, but as the first few weeks have passed more and more i am leaning towards Utd..They just seem to have the luck and the never say die attitude.. They ve already gotten out of jail twice this season against Arsenal and Man City on Sunday..Chelsea will lose there African players in january to the African nations cup for at least four weeks, this will be a big boost to Utds chances...I can see Utd doing the four in a row and fergie calling it a day..What do you people think , and would you rule out, as i have, the likes of Arsenal Liverpool or Man City causing a surprise..

It's either Man Utd or Chelsea, but you can rarely bet against the old dog Fergie.. in my opinion, I'd stick a few bob on them winning 3 trophies this year & him retiring at the end of the season.

I think the same as regards fergie.. I was sure last season they would do the clean sweep coming to the end of the season but i think 3 trophies is beyond them this season , having said that if i was having a bet on a team to win 3 trophies, theyd be my bet..

But they did win 3 trophies last season.

    Premiership
    World Club Cup
    Carling Cup

They're a sure bet (once you pick the right competitions).

i'd go with chelsea, they look the strongest in defence, UTD have leaked a lot of goals so far and chelsea have two strikers on form in anelka and drogba, UTD will rely heavily on Rooney and i think it's not fair on the lad. letting Tevez go was a huge mistake imo, i was glad to see the back of ronaldo though, if he gave 100% like tevez does then he would be a great player , messi is still no 1.
drogba could be out for a week or so with injury and they are going to lose him for the african nations soon but chelsea still have a great squad to cope with his loss. chelsea for me to win

Chelsea all the way. No other team is close to playing the same football they are right now. The Big Phil days hampered them last season but they certainly want to play for Carlo. Zhirkov hasn't even played yet this year, neither Joe Cole (in the league, both played v QPR tonight). Anelka banged in the goals last year on his own which is what he'll do when Drogba is off in Africa.

Man United the only team that could possibly challenge but too many poor players or good players in poor form right now (Foster, Carrick, Nani) or players who can't play 30 odd league games (Giggs, Neville, Scholes)

It's going to be an open PL this year, but only outside the top 2. Pool, Arsenal, City....no chance.

Definate liking for fergies lot at the prices, should not be 5/2, also like man u/ liverpool forecast at 20 on betfair. chelsea played hull, sunderland, stoke, fulham, spurs and burnley so far, 18 points is not that surprising, also they fell over the line against hull and stoke, but this has been ignored by the media who fawn over their every move, remember this is the same mob who lost twice to liverpool, 3-0 at old trafford and 2-1 at home to arsenal last season, games between the top sides decide the final table, not winning against hull and burnley, liverpool will challenge again and fall short again so the forecast is a great price.

Never right off utd, much as i cant stand em, they always seem to pull it out of the bag. You have to rem chelsea cannot strenghten their squad in jan while Fergie will have that option. With Drogba,Essien,Mikel,Kalou and others going to gone for a month they could struggle. Good point made about who chelsea have played too. I think Chelsea and Man City(provided they dont get all thier top players suspended!) will challenge em most. Cant liverpool making a challenge as squad too thin Ngog and Vorinin not good enough back up for torres if he injured, out of form.

Smart money would be om utd
