    Hi,

Recently I had my eBay and Paypal accounts hacked into. The person who did this then purchased items on my eBay and used my Paypal to pay for these items.
I found out within a day and changed all passwords etc., and reported it to eBay and Paypal. The money that was taken from the account will be put back once Paypal finish whatever enquiries they must do.

I have the email address of the person who hacked into my accounts (got it from my eBay account where he had changed information, so I sent them an email from a new address pretending that I was one of the people s/he bought the items off asking for their address as I wanted to post them their item.
They gave me the same address that was on my eBay account - it was in Lagos, Nigeria.
I sent another email saying that eBay had warned me not to send to Nigeria and to get an alternative address. S/he basically delayed saying it was for their cousin, then friend in Nigeria.
When I said I would not send to Nigeria they gave me an address in Canada.
I have asked if they have an address in UK as I am apprehensive about posting abroad; I have yet to hear back from them.

My question is: This was obvious illegal on their behalf to basically steal money. Is there anywhere I can report this to that could charge or at least warn this person?

Sorry for the long-winded post, just wanted to provide the background.

    Thanks.

Your local Garda station would be a good start.

Can they do anything about it though?

I am not expecting Jessica Fletcher to come out of retirement, but if these things are not followed up the perpetrators basically go unpunished.

You will only find that out when/if you report it.

You are making an allegation of theft/fraud etc?

Let us know how you get on.
