Phone Call Available Online

If somebody records a telephone conversation between me and them and makes it available for download online, is there anything I can do to get it deleted?

It's a short business call, for a podcast, and there's nothing libellous, slanderous, sexual or illegal about it.

It's not even harmful, really, but I find it embarrassing to have it available for people to hear because it is 'evidence' of me going back on a verbal promise that I made.

My own name is beeped out, but the place where I work is mentioned clearly.

Is there anything I can do?

Contact the administrators of the website that it is on and ask that they take it down immediately.

I'm not sure about this but I think it is illegal to record somebody without their consent, so you could say that you did not agree to the recording of the phone call and that you definitely do not agree to have it available online.

Only one party needs to consent to the recording of a phone call - there are additional cases, like if you are told by an automated system that the call may be recorded or in certain industries like stock broking.

Ask them to take it down, if they don't talk to the data protection commissioner to see if there is something you can do.

There is always the option of a solicitor.

If only one party needs to consent to the recording of a phonecall, but there are 2 people in the call and one doesn't konw about the recording at all, how does that work? Obviously the person who decides to make the call is consenting to it, but he's also the one making the decision to record.........
Contact the website administrators and see if they will get it down. If you were not told it was being recorded then I'm pretty sure that's illegal anyway, let alone putting it on a website.
    Who does that anyway?

The telephone call was an interview for a type of radio show called a podcast that I had previous agreed to give. And the the phrase "this call is being recorded" can be heard on the aduio. Twice, I think. It's only a short clip, anyway.

It was meant to be a long 'interview', and that's what I agreed to do last week. But I changed my mind at the last minute, when he phoned me.

It sounds bad (for me) and I'd rather nobody heard it.

I wish I had never agreed to the bloody thing and I want it to go away. My own name is bleeped out, yes, but the name of the place I work can be heard once or twice.

It runs something like this: "Hi, this is X and I'm ready to do the interview as agreed. I'm recording this." "I changed my mind. I'm not doing it." But longer. Whole thing runs about 3 and a half minutes.

so... you agreed to do an interview... they rang you expecting and intending to record it, you change your mind, and consider this a Personal Issue?

I understand that, but this post clearly isn't a personal issue.... Ban me if you feel it... but he's just looking to cover himself...
