Sky+ Box Memory

    Hi
We moved house recently and just had a new Sky + box installed yesterday when I noticed that the memory on our new box seems to be smaller than the old one. e.g CSI New York takes up 2% on the old box and the same programme takes up 4% on the new one (we tape 10 mins before and after each show). The old Sky + box is a Pace 6.2a03 and the new one is a Thomson 129e163. Would anyone know what the problem is?

    Cheers

Were the episodes of CSi recorded on the same channel? Some channels (i.e. BBC) seem to take up more space than others (i.e. Sky1).

Don't know if there's any reason for this, but it's my experience anyway

Call Sky and ask them if there is a memory capacity difference.

I've also heard that rebuilding the planner can help with space issues. Some further info here.

At a guess, the situation is that both boxes are 160gb models BUT the new one is a latest gen and has anytime tv. This unfortunately takes up 80gb leaving only 80gb for recording.
