    Hi

Does anyone know the history of the cannons at Rosslare Strand? There was obviously an emplacement there at one point as the concrete remains are visible on the beach, but I haven't been able to track down any references to the origin of these.

Del, the Royal Navy had a training base at Rosslare which was dismantled at the outbreak of WWI so they may have come from there. Short paragraph on this in Vol. 1 of "Rosslare in History" although it refers to the guns at the base being "broken up".
