Right gentlmen, I need your help. Its the man's birthday in a months time and I really wanna get him something decent/good.... He will be 27... I was lookin at gettin him a sat nav, but his dad has one and well I dont think he actually used it...then I had thought of a driving experience day but he does be so busy workin and stuff to fly to the uk would be pointless for 40 mins driving...

I was looking at gettin him 2 tickets for this:

Any ideas would be really apprecaited....cos I have gotten him all the stuff he needed until now...

If he is into that stuff then go for it.
The Mondello Track stuff is good fun - I did it a number of times and had great craic.

To be honest, if it was me, a BJ and dinner would be enough but that may not be your cup of tea!!!

    http://www.rallyschoolireland.com/ - great craic!

Or what Kbannon said, I wouldn't even want the dinner!

You might find a few more ideas here. The hovercrafts look really good, but that sort of thing needs a group really, its not that great to do on your own.

    http://topgifts.ie/products/htquad_quad_session.php

My fella got me the above as part of my 21st present, and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life! Absolutely unreal.

One word of warning - at the start of the quadding, the organiser separated us into two groups - male and female. The males to drive the manual quads, and the wimmens to drive the autos. Well I told him where to go and got a manual quad - I'm not handing over that amount of money for nothing!!! And I whupped the asses of all the instructors - both those driving the manuals and the autos!!! :D

Seriously though, apart from the sexism, it's great craic and something really different, if he hasn't done it before.

I don't know what he's like but I know me personally that I love gadgets and electronics goodies. I tend to hate stuff like adventure activities, mostly because I'm afraid I can't do them because of my beer gut etc :(:)

    A few ideas

    iPhone
    iPod Touch
    PS3
    LCD TV
    Blu-ray player
    Surround sound system
Tickets to some concert or band or event or something he really likes.

My mind has gone blank now :)

I was thinking - the brothers should start something like a gift wrapping service. Not to actually wrap gifts (that's wimmen's work) but to give the gift the brother's seal of approval. It would help stop men everywhere being the victim of gaffes by well meaning but clueless wimmens, like a guy I know who was given a lovely new Munster jersey for his birthday.....with a squad number and his own name on the back. Now the poor fella can't take his jacket off when he goes to games. This could have been easily avoided by running the gift idea past a brother first...

To the OP : Be careful about making the gift a chore. If that voucher had an expiry he could feel under pressure to use it before the time is up. Rushing to Cavan and back may not be much fun either - maybe make a weekend of it. He may also not want to go on his own and end up racing with a bunch of strangers.

TBH, it might sound lame, but sometimes simple is best. Cook his favorite meal and give him the remote....
