Lets look on the bright side we are now trend leaders back in the fifties we were decidedly followers, thats progress.

The Americans very often misinterpret the machinations of the ECB and the complexities and sophistication of the politics and people involved. The ECB is heavily and actively engaged in quantitative easing in Ireland despite all the policies, rules and regulations that prohibit that kind of activity. Where there is the will there is the way and the ECB is proving to be a staunch ally and true supporter of Ireland. We seem to have allies in the right places in Europe and if this continues there are substantial grounds for hope.
