Dont know alot but has my Turbo blown?
What is the price to get it fixed?
    Any help is appreciated.

was there a bit of a bang or a pop?

Did the intercooler pipe blow off ?

more than likely an intercooler pipe has popped off the 1.8 is a tough donkey and gives very litle trouble and cant be too bad if the engine is still running

The two flexible intercooler hoses on the top of the engine have a habit of bursting. See if they have (you will also see oil covering the offending item).

Agree with the ops. sounds like a dislocated or burst turbo hose. Have a look at the large rubber hoses near the top of the engine. Look for splits in the rubber or if they have come off the mounts. Fairly easy to get and wont break the bank.

If none of the above maybe check out the egr valve.

Thanks for the help. I went out to check the intercooler pipes, there was no sign of any leaks etc. checked the integrity of all the fittings and tinkered about with the cables..
I started the engine no prob and took it for a spin, the issue seems to have cleared itself!!..somebody mentioned dirty diesel fuel or an air fuel filter block as being the cause. Maybe this EGR valve was the issue..
I'll send it for a chekup in the week..
    Thanks again.,.
