Probably my favourite band of this year. Saw them support Maccabees in New York in June and they blew me away live. Hadnt heard of them before then.

Their album is incredibly produced. Many different types of songs, from the balladesque "Silvia" to the electronic quirky sound effects on "In Search Of".

Might be a controversial opinion but I think their superior to Passion Pit.

    Burial and Animal are qual.

I saw them over the summer too and they sound very promising. THey seemed to rely too heavily on their MGMT-inspired sound though, but (as far as I'm aware) they're a new band and they'll grow into something flipping deadly!:pac:

Some great remixes of Animal on it's b-side from the likes of Fake Blood and Crookers. All up on Spotify if you have access. Video for Burial is great too!

They where recommended by a guy in work and have been listening to them on Spotify. Quite enjoying Animal and Song for No One.

They are playing Stockholm on 28th Nov (and Air are playing 29th). I had planned on being in Dublin that weekend for the video games live thing but thinking of skipping it now based on the above

[edit]While I think of it also part of this song has been playing on an ad over here and I tracked it down

They're playing in The Tower: Dinn Ri in Carlow on Nov. 12th for anyone interested.
    Only Irish venue unfortunately.
Don't think tickets are on sale yet, i can't find them anyway.

Id recommend everyone to go see them. The guy on the drum pad equipment puts on a show almost by himself he's so energetic. Such an awkward place to go to though, Carlow? Not that ive anything against the place.

Shame. Would have liked to have seen them again

HeinekenMusic (Ed) sorted me with four tics today but two of the people who were supposed to be going with me have swine flu and the other guy has a chest infection! It's late notice but if someone wants 4 tics for tonight's gig in Carlow, PM me.

I agree (if you mean overproduced).
When I saw them on Jools I thought it was more raw and rough around the edges, which I loved. But listening to the album I thought it was just too clean and produced and tending towards cheesy European electro-pop.
Some well written tunes but overall a slight disappointment for me.

No i meant well produced as in....well produced. Well generally live performances are always less clean than the CD. I dont think its anywhere near cheesy electro-pop to be honest.

Don't care much for that. Not sure what it is but nah, didn't even listen the whole way through that track posted.

Hope it's ok to bump this thread

These guys are releasing their second album called 'Happy To You' on March 27th. Two songs have been released from it, 'Devils Work' and the official first single 'Paddling Out', for which the video was premiered today.

Big fan of these, saw them live in NY in 2009 supporting The Maccabees and been a huge fan since, hope they add an Irish date on their European tour, which dates haven't been announced for yet.

Also, watch the 'Paddling Out' video before the 'Devils Work' one :D

Gonna do another little bump with this thread.

So the albums out, and im loving it more with every listen. It's a little more varied than the first album, like on 'God Help This Divorce' which is quite different and slower. They just have a 'sound' that I really enjoy listening to. This takes a few more listens than the first to get your head around certain songs, Black Tin Box with Lykke Li for example, but it's worth it definitely.

Their next single is 'The Wave'. which is an absolute stormer of a track with, following on from their other one's, a quite bizarre but fun video.

    Any thoughts on the album?
