Just stumbled on these online. Hand Crafted Irish Instruments and a mighty looking guitar, finishing around the soundhole and fret inlays is really nice. Just wondering if any has tried one, or knows a place that stock them.
I see from the site that alot of shops you'd know are stockists but I havent seen one yet in person. I really like the look of the Scariff Model.

Waltons in town will have those in stock. I've tried one, theyre quite good. In terms of sound theres probably better guitars out there for the money but theyre finished very well and feel solid.

Based on the price there's no chance that these are Irish made. My bet is that they're Chinese.

I've mentioned it before but these are Waltons own brand.

These are Waltons own brand of Guitars. Not tried them but some of the Chinese acoustics are stunning quality for the money.

God i never would have thought it to look at them that they were Chinese! Will have to get a go of one soon.

I did try out a Craftine (http://www.craftine.ie/) in Xmusic the weekend. Which is finished in a similar style. I have to say i really like the celtic designs. and the chamfered edges, on the nylon models, where the guitar would meet your right forearm and leg makes for a really comfortable feel. price point is slightly different though! these ones were coming in at around 2,000. very nice though! anyone have any experiences with these?

Those sound very nice and are comfortable to play. Theyre not going to be as easy to sell on as a Martin or Taylor though.

Yea chinese stuff has obvioulsy got a bad rep for making mostly beginners instruments but that doesnt mean they cant make good stuff. A customer inquired about a 26" gong in the shop and when he found out it was made in China he kinda went "Oh....". Chinas the home of bloody gongs

I tried these and lots of other acoustics at the Music Show on Saturday. The McBrides were on the Waltons stand. Didn't impress at all. I like all the celtic design stuff on guitars, but it was a bit over the top on these. The finish overall was dodgy and the action sky high. They have laminate back and sides and I found the tone a bit thin and tinny (as much as you could hear anything in that hall!) They had cheap no brand tuners and a pickup brand I'd never heard of (presumably Chinese). Tops looked like low grade spruce - lots of wide grain and big knots on the wood on some models and big chunky bridges ... just bog standard in every department. Cheap to buy (around the €200 mark), but you get what you pay for.
I tried the Craftines. Very confusing at first because they have Chinese made models and Irish made ones. Confusing because I thought the Chinese stuff was so good, it was Irish made. All solid wood guitars and nice timbers, even solid wood bindings - plugged in, the tone cut through the din and playability was exceptional for a Chinese made instrument. Well loaded up with Grover hardware and Fishman pickup and tuner. Decent hardshell case too. The Irish made ones are to die for - never seen an acoustic like this before with bevel top and back - very comfortable to play! If I had the dosh, it would be one of these.
