after a recent upgrade there was a new option when recording a programme that gave you the option to record the whole series, however it has never seemed to work properly on ours as most times when you set it to record the whole series it won't bother recording anything at all.

So was just wondering is it working properly for anyone or was it just a half assed attempted to put something in by UPC

    Works just fine for me.

Works find for me also, except not all series have series link capability. Most have, however the odd one (like Match of the Day) doesn't.

Try one of the soaps, etc. If they don't work, I'd contact UPC!

I was just onto the tech support about this this morning. Record series hasnt worked in ages for me. They have to reformat the dvr and reckon it'll work then! Downside is I've now lost all my recordings. Tech support suggestion was to go home and watch everything beofre they wiped the drive

    A good suggestion. LOL.

Shame they can't resolve the issue without a full reformat.

Worse is they cant guarentee it will resolve the issue so I'm 99% sure that when I get home I still wont be able to record series, plus I'll have lost all the other stuff I recorded!

I remember reading something about if you set a Reminder (i.e. press the OK Button over what you want to be reminded of and the blue clock appears) and have it set to record, that it won't. If it's set to record, you can't really tell that a reminder is also set, cause the red clock goes over where the blue clock should be. Could this be the case?
    Just something to check.

Well my recordings got blitzed the other day in the reformat and the dvr successfully recorded yesterdays episode of some muck herself has set for series record so we'll see what next week brings!!!

cool thanks for the replies. @Saint_Mel if you could keep me posted on if it continues to work that would be cool, as it would be annoying to have to lose everything on the DVR for nothing

I've been recording The Bill (so embarrassing :o ) successfully until 2 weeks ago. Now series link isn't picking it up. Would a change like that relate to UPC or ITV? I also tried to add a series link to a programme on History the other night (it IS a series) and it didn't offer the option. I've several other programmes recording fine.

Mine only works properly if a show is on everyday

if its weekly it only records one and I have reset the series link every Sunday or Monday

i get mixed results with mine - for example, i record all episodes of eastenders. The first time i set it to record i was asked if i wanted to record them all so i did and it worked great for a few weeks. I was well impressed. Then it seemed to miss a week and pick up again the week after. Right now it's dropped off again and i've gone into the guide as far into the future as it will let me go and manually set each episode to record but whne i do this i don't get the option to record all episodes fro some reason. The last time this happened it went on for about 2 weeks and then suddenly for no apparent reason i got the option to record all episodes again.... a very flakey system. Does anybody know a quick fix for this.... other than formatting the whole drive? it gets really annoying after a while.

All my series links just disappeared one day last week. Missed a couple of programmes as a result
