    Hi all,

Just imported and registered a Toyota Avensis from the north. Looking to purchase standard plates. I'm based in Cork.

    1. Price for set of plates and fixing kit is 23.50 with www.fancyplates.com
Is this cheap? Anyone know of anywhere cheaper, either on-line or in the Cork region?
    2. Are they easy to fit yourself? Any info on this. What would a mechanic usually charge for it?

Thanks for the help and info on this,
    P.

    Fixing Kit?

2 Self tapping screws and a 12V Drill/Screwdriver is all you need.

Piece of p1ss to do it yourself, just screw the self tappers through the plate into the bodywork behind. If it's an NI car and already has plates on, just use the current plates as a template, drill some holes in the ROI plates in the same position and use the same screws to attach the new plates.

You could always use double sided tape to you don't have to screw anything in, but I'd be wary about the plates falling off.

Your local motor factor should be able to make up a set of plates cheap enough.

Use the code 601791 on eireplates to give 3.05 off the price. Very easy to fit. If ordering on eireplates buy the fixing kit as well.

Eireplates are pressed metal plates too not the cheapo plastic ones.
