Sorry if thats another of my stupid question, I'm sure ill get the hang of it eventually!!!!!!

Assuming you don't want to use that cables for satellite any more, then yes, you should be able to reuse them for UPC (assuming they are of a decent quality).

You'll probably want to disconnect them from the satellite LNB and connect them together using a splitter in the attic.

You would be best to also remove the NTL "TV/FM splitters" at the end of the lines too as they are not really suitable for satellite.

are the cables used my the installer differnet than ntl's ? For example we have ntl in the two rooms downstairs and getting sky in next week, would I be best to remove this before the installer comes or will they re use them?

Odds are the installer will run a fresh cable from the dish to the new box at the main tv. If you wish to hook the sky up to another tv, then an existing cable can be used if the cable runs from the main tv point to the other tv point..

No need to remove anything though, unless you want to.

so the installer could use the exisiting cable, but it may be best to use new fresh cable as he would have to add spliter etc..
