Ok, iv been searching through google for ages and i havnt come up with any solutions as i dont actually have an e92 yet but hopefully will have soon.

Does anyone out there have their ipod connected to the standard radio in their e9x 3 series? Im not concerned with FM transmitters as the quality is awful from them...

Iv been searching through bimmerfest and cant find much as the search feature isnt the best and each thread seems to relate to specific situations with M3's and 335i's and i dont think a 320 2007 would have the same stereo..

    Any help is much appriciated

buy a dice silverline kit from the states, operates via the head unit and even through the steering wheel controls, superb bit of kit and by far the best out there imo. everythig is 100% out of sight and there are no cables etc visible

you can install it yourself, its utterly idiot proof

Are you sure that the Dice system is compatible with e9x models?

There is a dealer fit option, which I don't think is very expensive. Used to be advertised on the front page of BMW.ie

I got the BMW after market fitted connection but it aint cheap. I costs around €650 and they needed to keep the car for a day to reset the software etc. However it is fantastic - all options come up on the idrive screen and you can use the steering wheel controls. A lot of other newer BMWs have and aux input which you can just plug a 3.5mm cable into from your ipod, however you will have to use the controls on the ipod

That sounds good but the model im thinking of getting will not have idrive, its a 320i Coupe with NO sat nav so there will only be a stereo fitted. I dont mind having to use the controls on the ipod at all!!!
Is there no way of connecting cables to the back of the stereo that go into the ipod?

All E92s have aux input as standard. It's located under the center armrest.

as robbie says it will come standard with an aux port in the armrest.
old school mp3 cds work pretty well also, the head unit lists folders and track name.

it's not worth paying the money for further integration if you don't have idrive imo.
