Had a search of old threads and could not find an answer to this.
My car went for NCT and failed because of
    Item - Transmission
    Discription- CV Boot
    Reason - Frayed Cut
    Location - offside front right.

The car is a 96 micra, I have it 4 years and when I first got after about a month it started clicking I brought it back and it was fixed for free.
The last couple of months its clicking again when I lock hard right.
I went to the garage to change my tires just before the NCT and the mechanic comented on it. I just said I will get it failed before I get any work on it.
So any idea how much it costs?

If it has started clicking, that basically means that the rubber boot is cracked for a while, the grease on the mechanical joint contained within has escaped and also dirt & grit would have got into the joint causing it to wear out. So at this stage, you need a new joint as well as the frayed boot I would think.
Not sure of cost. If you could get a used joint & a new rubber boot, it wouldnt be a major cost.

40 to 80 euro for job and boot, depending on where you go. The Advance Pitstop type places will do the job afaik.
