Problems with UPC box (DVR version)

Have had the odd problems with the box in the past (very slow when trying to change channels etc). Theres often an upgrade and that seems to fix the problem, only problem now is (and there hasnt been any upgrade lately to the best of my knowledge) but now the box won't even change channel!

Only way to fix it is to disconnect the power supply and start again, whne it does change it takes 8-10 sec for the sound to come on the channel you've just selected.

Is this a common problem, box is only about 18 mths old, thought we'd get around it whne we upgrade to HD but seems its not avaliable here

Oh and whats with it ALWAYS flicking back to their info channel (101). . .ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

    :(

It does sound like bull, but as u.p.c. is a dutch company a lot of its hardware and software would come from Holland so there may be some truth in what he's saying.

just wondering if anyone with the dvr has suffered loss of sound for about 10sec on a regular occurrance?

Not sure if its the TV, UPC box or the signal coming in

yup, i'm getting screen freezes (split second) and the audio taking ages to come on if I have the box running for more then a day or two.

power cycling will fix it for another day, but that is fairly bull****e TBH!

    will try the menu/upc button!
