Please help - Im so clueless!

I connected the ipod to the computer this morning to add a few songs, and I was asked if I wanted the new version, so I went ahead, but there was some problem and the message told me I had to restore factory settings. I've been building up my apps for months and now they are are all gone. Some I paid a fair bit for, and I was in the middle of reading some great books! Is there any way I can get my apps back?

if you sign in again with the same email address, it remembers your purchases and you'll get everything you paid for back for free.

It's likely those apps are still in your iTunes library, just re-sync them.

Thank you, but I was using my parents computer as my laptop is dying and I'm logged into itunes, but it hasn't prompted me that I can get my applications back. Any other suggestions?

In that case you'll have to re-download them using the iTunes Store on your phone as Ads by Google suggested. You won't be charged to download them if you are signed into the iTunes account you used to purchase them in the first place.
