    Hi Folks,
I bought one of the above on ebay and when I got it it was unlocked. I tunes had been registered on it and for safety I decided to try to back-up the firmware. It is on version 3.2 I think. I went into I tunes and done a restore and when it finished is seems to be locked. I bought it from ecell in the UK and they say I need to go to an Apple center to have it unlocked. I am totally unfamiliar with these phones.......what can I do to get it unlocked......wait for a hack on the internet or what? Can the guys in Moor street do it?

The latest version of the firmware is 3.1 - if you updated this straight through iTunes (or it was purchased with it already on it), there is no way to software unlock the phone at the moment using the "standard" tools (like ultrasn0w) and there is no ETA on when (or even if) an unlock may be made available.

Didn't realize there are UK retailers that actually sell factory unlocked ones, fair enough. No messing with hacking of any kind required :).
