I am using Mission 723is and/or Mission 700s at the moment..would Tannoy be that much of a step up?

I couldn't say, I haven't heard those. Maybe you should see about putting in acoustic treatment, i.e. superchunks.

Having owned Mission speakers before (but I should point out not those particular models) I'd suggest that it's extremely unlikely a Euro 300 set of monitors will give you any better information than you're already getting.

Well, Mission made some horrible speakers in the late nineties, but it wasn't those 700 series ones...

I had a similar budget as yourself but I know next to nothing about monitors and from what the guys were saying, there's not a whole lot of quality in this price range.

I ended up getting M-Audio BX8A's purely because they were on sale in X Music for €299 from €600 I think.
